It’s not all popping champagne corks and fairytales in the East Bay’s high-end housing market.
One mega-home for sale in the Berkeley-Oakland hills, which Home Girl has been following since its appearance on the market in December 2008, has resolutely failed to find a buyer and has had what we calculate is its fourth price reduction (there was one here, then here, then here).
7080 Kenilworth Road, a 4+/5, 5,000 sq ft uncompromisingly contemporary house with Bay views and a pool, changed its ticket price to $3,100,000 today, having initially stormed onto the listings at a bullish $4,999,000. That’s a 38% plunge. As we say, it’s not all rosy at the top.
