Julius Shulman for those Mad Men moments

Shuman2

We’re suffering serious Mad Men withdrawal in the Home Girl household so we’re heading out to see Visual Acoustics: The Modernism of Julius Shulman.

We hear it’s a sumptuously produced documentary about the accomplished Californian architectural photographer who captured the work of nearly every modern and progressive architect since the 1930s including Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra, John Lautner and Frank Gehry.

Directed by Eric Bricker and narrated by Dustin Hoffman, the film is described as “a joyful portrait of the magnetic, whip-smart gentleman who chronicled the evolution of modern architecture with his unforgettable images”.
