Next time you are worrying about the levels of crime in your neighborhood, consider what your Bay Area neighbors in Tiburon have to put up with.
The following three calls to the police were recorded in the The Ark, Tiburon’s local paper of record:
December 4, 11:42 a.m.: Police responded to a vacant lot near Claire Way, after an irate caller reported that a man was using a weed whacker in the area. It turned out that the miscreant was clearing the space to make it safer for neighborhood children to play there.
December 8, 10:15 p.m.: A Hawthorne Drive resident called for police when a man tried to deliver a late-night pizza to her home. She said she hadn’t ordered a pizza, and she was right. Her neighbor had placed the order, and the deliveryman was at the wrong address.
December 5, 1:52 p.m. Deputies responded to an address on Richardson Drive to intervene in an argument between two brothers, who were intoxicated. The brothers agreed to make nice and keep the peace.
Those Tiburon folk evidently like to keep a watchful eye on each other. Maybe they don’t have much real crime to worry about? So why don’t we all rush to live there? Maybe the fact that the median list price there last month was $2.3 million.
Still, if you’re still tempted, and like the idea of a camera taking a snap every time you drive into town, you may want to check out this new listing at 2210 Mar East Street (pictured above). It’s a 3-bedroom, 2,604 sq ft home priced at $5,500,000 — that’s a cool $2,112/sq ft.
